About the Team
Joanna and Rafa
Founder & Chief Bosses
I was born and raised in the Bay Area and have spent the last 10 years living, studying and working in different parts of the United States and abroad. Upon returning to the Bay Area I gained a new understanding and appreciation for the culture of innovation so native to the Bay. CO-Spot was born out of this new found appreciation and the entrepreneurial drive to participate. Rafa arrived to the world on October 26th, 2012 - he enjoys roaming the hallways of 350 Townsend Street and can be found most days at CO-Spot being innovative himself.
Joanna graduated with a degree in Social Ecology from UC Irvine and a masters degree in Environmental Management from the University of San Francisco.

Matt
Second in Command & Operations Manager
I'm a Bay Area native, born and raised and San Francisco is my favorite city. After spending almost five years in my early 20's gallivanting around the globe (working at the global headquarters of the Baha'i Faith in Haifa, Israel and getting a taste of both village life and community development in South Africa, Lesotho and Namibia), I came back to the Bay to continue with my university studies. When I finally finished, I found myself wondering what to next. I was offered to help out with CO-Spot's operations. When people ask me what I'm all about, I tell them: "I don't know who I am, but I do quite a few things. I like to study social sciences. I like to read philosophy. I like the arts. I like to write. Maybe not a jack-of-all trades, but a jack-of-several trades who is too rock'n'roll to be tied down to any one thing." And that's what I like about CO-Spot: I get to meet diverse people who do lots of different things, and I get to do different things.
Matt graduated from UC Berkeley with degrees in Psychology and Sociology.

Stephen
Staff Accountant
I was born in Philadelphia, and have lived all along the West Coast, from San Diego to Seattle, and now in the Bay Area. I have over a decade of experience in the youth and community development fields, and have recently discovered an interest in finance and technology. I am fortunate to be working alongside Joanna and the team by double and triple checking our numbers to make sure everything is legit. I love working with CO-Spot because of the many different people and ventures we support, and its mission to help small businesses and entrepreneurs flourish.
Stephen graduated from the University of Washington (Seattle) with a degree in Psychology and Anthropology, and has taken Personal Financial Planning courses with UC Berkeley Extension.
